Anthropic Doubles Access to Claude Model for Cybersecurity Partners

In a nutshell: Anthropic expands its circle of defensively-used AI cybersecurity partners from 50 to 200 organizations with a focus on critical infrastructure.

Anthropic is scaling its security program Project Glasswing from 50 to approximately 200 partner organizations worldwide. The program provides access to Claude Mythos, an AI model for automated vulnerability detection in critical infrastructure.

Anthropic is significantly expanding its closed Project Glasswing program. Previously, approximately 50 partner organizations had access to Claude Mythos Preview – an AI model that Anthropic introduced in April 2026. The new partnership now encompasses around 200 institutions in more than 15 countries. Admission to the program is tied to strict, predefined security requirements. Anthropic works closely with the U.S. government and representatives from the IT security industry.

Claude Mythos Preview has specialized capabilities for autonomous vulnerability analysis. The model can search source code at scale, identify programming errors, and independently construct attack chains by linking multiple isolated vulnerabilities together. The introduction of these capabilities led to considerable concern in the IT industry in spring 2026, as the technology could also be used for large-scale offensive cyberattacks. Concern was so significant that U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and Jerome Powell from the Federal Reserve held an emergency meeting with bank executives to warn of systemic risks to the financial sector.

In the testing phase with the initial 50 partner organizations, the involved teams were able to identify over 10,000 security gaps in established software infrastructures – all classified as highly or critically severe. Although the initial panic appears partly exaggerated, practice demonstrates that automated code analysis is an effective tool for proactively closing security gaps before they can be exploited by malicious actors. The program specifically focuses on sectors that are of elementary importance to social and economic life.
