Tony Blair’s Consulting Firm Expands AI Business and Reorganizes European Operations

In a nutshell: Tony Blair’s consulting firm is expanding its AI business and reorganizing its European structure. A new center of excellence for “leadership in the age of AI” is being established. The presence in Brussels remains, but is being reshaped under new leadership.

The consulting firm of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair is intensifying its focus on artificial intelligence and overhauling its presence in Europe. The institute is building a new center of excellence for “leadership in the age of AI” and positioning itself as a leading partner for governments in global AI competition.

The Tony Blair Institute, chaired by Blair, is renewing its business model under the motto “governing in the age of AI”. The company is currently conducting a comprehensive organizational review to realign and reorganize itself. This also affects the Brussels office, which was established in 2023.

Despite the restructuring, the institute wants to maintain its presence in the EU capital to support the work of Andreea Zugravu. The former McKinsey partner was appointed as Managing Director for Europe this year. According to company statements, this is an “evolution of the operating model,” though reports of possible staff reductions as part of the shift to AI priorities have not been confirmed.
