PwC Deploys Claude to Develop Technologies, Close Deals, and Redesign Enterprise Functions

The Bottom Line: Anthropic and PwC expand their partnership: Claude will be deployed across hundreds of thousands of PwC employees worldwide to develop technologies and transform business operations. Previous implementations have demonstrated efficiency gains of up to 70 percent.

Anthropic and PwC have announced an expanded strategic partnership that significantly intensifies Claude’s use at PwC. The AI model will be deployed in technology development, closing deals, and transforming enterprise operations for customers across all industries.

The partnership addresses a major challenge: many enterprises still rely on legacy systems designed before the AI era – representing an estimated economic burden of over $2 trillion globally.

The collaboration focuses on several core areas. PwC will initially introduce Claude Code and Cowork in its U.S. teams, then roll out to hundreds of thousands of employees worldwide. Together, Anthropic and PwC will establish a Center of Excellence and train and certify 30,000 PwC professionals on Claude.

Special focus is placed on three priorities: developing agent-based technology, establishing AI-native deal-making processes, and redesigning enterprise functions. As a pilot project, PwC is founding a new business unit – the Office of the CFO – as the first standalone practice built entirely on Claude.

In practice, impressive results are already evident. Claude is already operating in areas such as professional sports operations, insurance underwriting, mainframe modernization, HR transformation, and cybersecurity. Delivery times have been reduced by up to 70 percent. Insurance underwriting that previously took ten weeks is now completed in ten days. Security tasks that took hours are now completed in minutes.

“PwC is leading the way in deploying AI in industries where accuracy and reliability are non-negotiable,” says Dario Amodei, co-founder and CEO of Anthropic. “The conversation around AI has shifted from theoretical possibilities to real-world implementation. Customers are seeking safe, responsible, and business-focused AI solutions that deliver measurable results in complex operational environments.”
