OpenAI: Codex for Knowledge Work, Anthropic Expands Claude for Creative Tools

The bottom line: OpenAI and Anthropic are positioning their agent platforms as specialized productivity tools beyond programming: Codex for knowledge work, Claude with integration focus on creative tools.

OpenAI has positioned Codex as a productivity platform for general knowledge work, not just programming. In parallel, Anthropic is expanding Claude to support creative tools such as Blender, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Ableton.

OpenAI presents “Codex for Work” – a repositioning of Codex as a platform for knowledge workers of all kinds. The new version brings 42 percent faster context understanding action (CUA), a responsive browser, and features such as /chronicle and /goal (reimplementation of the Ralph Loop concept). Onboarding workflows now specifically prompt users to connect with Microsoft, Google, or Salesforce accounts and integrate a planning interface as well as a file-based editor for Microsoft Office documents.

A central design feature is the “Dynamic UI” approach: instead of a static mode switcher, the agent routes the entire user interface contextually. According to product announcements, this enables use by non-programmers for any tasks performed on a computer.

At the same time, Anthropic is intensifying Claude integration with creative tools: support for Blender, Autodesk, Adobe Creative Cloud, Ableton, Splice, Canva, and Affinity. In addition, Claude Security was launched – a code review tool for security vulnerabilities. Claude maintains its dominance in impression metrics.

The positioning signals a strategy: agents as operational platforms for specialized work domains (Codex for knowledge work, Claude for creative fields). The shift from coding-focused to universal use-case portfolio represents a structural pivot in the agent market.
