AI Literacy Programs in Europe – Supporting Article 4 of the EU AI Act

Key point: The Future of Life Institute presents a curated database of AI literacy programs to support Article 4 of the EU AI Act. The free, independent resource is regularly updated and welcomes contributions from training providers.

As organizations across Europe advance implementation of the EU AI Act, interest is growing in accessible and practical training resources. The Future of Life Institute introduces a curated selection of AI literacy programs that support businesses, institutions, and professionals in understanding AI technologies, their risks, and responsible use in the workplace.

The selected programs were evaluated according to strict criteria: they must support the development of AI literacy as per Article 4 of the EU AI Act, address clear target audiences such as professionals and organizations, be available in accessible online or hybrid formats, and provide transparent information on pricing and duration.

The initiative emphasizes geographic and sectoral diversity to include initiatives from various EU countries and from different providers (public, private, legal, academic). The database is regularly updated and is free, independent, and permanently accessible.

The Future of Life Institute, the oldest and largest non-profit institute for responsible AI development, operates this resource without paywall or commercial purposes. Organizations and professionals can submit their training programs to contribute to the growing collection. Further information and feedback are welcome via taylor@futureoflife.org.
