Bottom line: A comprehensive, free collection of AI training programs supports European organizations in meeting Article 4 of the EU AI Act. The Future of Life Institute continuously curates resources and actively seeks new program contributions.
Organizations across Europe are currently implementing the EU Artificial Intelligence Act with a focus on Article 4, which underscores the importance of AI competency. Here you will find a curated selection of practical training programs for companies, institutions, and professionals who want to better understand AI technologies, their risks, and responsible application.
The present overview offers a non-exhaustive collection of AI competency programs that is regularly updated. Each program was selected according to strictly defined criteria: alignment with Article 4 of the EU AI Act, clear target audiences (professionals and organizations), accessible online or hybrid format with appropriate duration, transparency regarding prices and content, as well as geographic and sectoral diversity.
The programs are intended to promote understanding of how AI functions, risk awareness, and ethical considerations, and to enable informed human oversight. Contributions from additional programs are welcome and can be submitted to taylor@futureoflife.org. The goal is to make the most comprehensive and reliable guide to the EU AI Act freely and publicly accessible.
The initiative is operated by the Future of Life Institute, the world’s oldest and largest nonprofit organization for responsible AI development. Additionally, the Institute publishes a fortnightly AI Act Newsletter with over 50,000 subscribers and has published over 100 updates since 2022.
